Toronto to San Jose:
Certain days of the week Air Canada flies direct. Prices can range, especially during our busy season…so be sure to book early. We always recommend to book with some kind of cancellation insurance. And also to PLEASE get HEALTH INSURANCE.

There are a few San Jose’s in the world, so be sure it is “San Jose, Costa Rica!” The airport code is: SJO

Depending on other flights coming in…it can take 1-2 hours to clear
customs, just write on your immigration form you are going to: “Playa Pavones”

From San Jose:
In order to make the connecting flight same day try to arrive earlier in the day from TO. Or often people do have to overstay in San Jose.

Airport Hotels with a shuttle (3 minutes away) are the Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn (in Alajuela, which is the area near the airport). If you have more time and a bigger budget and you want to stay in San Jose, then a beautiful hotel, part of the Small distinctive hotels in Costa Rica, is the “Grano de Oro”. San Jose is not the nicest place to hang out…just to let you know! And it is around a 25 minute taxi ride which costs around $40 from the airport hotels).

To Golfito:
If you have two hours clear you can make a connecting flight on Sansa https://www.flysansa.com/en

You need to be at your domestic flights one hour in advance to check in. Weight allowance is 30 lbs, and they charge $1 per every pound overweight. The earliest flight (approximately 5:45am ensures pretty good weather!)

**WE RECOMMEND coming a day earlier…staying overnight, and then taking the earliest flight to GOLFITO. The flight is 45 minutes long.

Check the itinerary on: Sansa (www.flysansa.com)

Golfito to Pavones (If you have flown down):

It’s a 1.5hr taxi ride to Pavones. $80, which you can share with others if you like. I can help arrange the taxi pick up for you once I have your flight details.

If its early morning, after you land… he can take you for breakfast “Desayuno” nearby, you can get water, use the bathroom, etc.

*PLEASE ASK THE TAXI DRIVER to take you to the ATM as well in Golfito. Changing $ at the airport is expensive. And Pavones HAS NO ATM!

WHAT TO BRING TO PAVONES:
